India is a land where exporting is much a necessity than a preferred choice. It is a highly populated land where commerce and business are the necessity of the hour. And then, India is and a leader in various fields, and the abundance of few specialized items can afford it to export such items. However, when they discuss the Indian Export Business, do they basically think of Handicraft industry? Not , because Agriculture as a major export area is a famous and popular idea, overshadowing plenty of other fields.

India is indeed of the major exporters of handicrafts and gift items.   3. India holds the major share of handicraft and handloom products manufacturing globally, almost every region of India has it's own form handmade work.
    India is also the major consumer of those products too.
    In recent time it has lost some place of problems like under-payment actual artisans and lack of demand of handmade products worldwide. I personally think if the products can be promoted online; then it might work good fro the industry.
